4. Dartmouth Big Green

2016-17 result: 7-20 (4-10) – No postseason

While technically finishing last in the league a year ago, Dartmouth is the only program that didn’t lose anyone important from last year.

Head coach David McLaughlin will have a roster rich with players good enough to finish in the top four in the regular season, something that hasn’t happened in a long time. In fact, the program hasn’t had a winning season since the 1998-99 season, when they finished 14-12.

One of the best players to come to the program in a long time is Evan Boudreaux, a junior who averaged 17.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg, good for second and tops in the conference, respectively. One of the best mid-major players never mentioned, Boudreaux has a chance to take a struggling program to heights they haven’t seen in decades.

He brings along with him another junior in Guilien Smith and senior ball distributor Miles Wright, the next two returning leading scorers.

The addition of the conference tournament is a big boost for Dartmouth. The Big Green isn’t good enough to obtain a title outright ahead of the others, but can easily get hot during two games to get the automatic bid. They now seem to have the players to do that. They just have to get to the top four first.
