Key Reserves

JR Max Montana

Formerly known as Max Hoetzel, the guard hopes that a name change will so change his recent injury problems. He has had three surgeries in the past year alone and that is worrisome. As a reserve, Montana plays the sharpshooter role, and when healthy can shoot it at a high clip.

JR Montaque Gill-Caeser

The former top-50 commit was disappointing in his first year with his new team. He’s more of an athlete instead of a shooter, which makes him redundant on the roster with Kell and Helmsley. It will be up to the coaching staff to find a suitable role for the wing, otherwise, his minutes will get cut.

SO Nolan Narain

While he didn’t get many minutes as a freshman, there are minutes at the forward spots to get. His ability to space the floor with his shooting can help the offense find open shots. Look for him to see an expanded role in this upcoming season.

FR Jalen McDaniels

A top-75 recruit coming off a redshirt season, McDaniels seems to be the heir apparent to Malik Pope. With the main rotation being all juniors and seniors, the power forward will lead the future group of Aztecs in the Mountain West. Until then, McDaniels will look to play a big role on this current team from the bench.
