Schedule and Final Thoughts

The Georgia basketball conference schedule sets up nicely both in teams played at home (Alabama, Mississippi, Texas A&M and Arkansas) and teams played on the road (Kentucky). With few 9:00 PM starts and plenty of big Saturday games, the renovated and revamped Stegeman Coliseum should be rocking. Expect Georgia to win 11-13 conference games.

The non-conference schedule is tough enough to impress the NCAA Tournament Committee but not overwhelming.

The Dawgs will fly west for the Wooden Legacy with a great chance to pick up quality road wins as well as have an opportunity to face a top-50 opponent. Georgia also travels north to face Marquette and UMass. At home, Georgia plays UT-Chattanooga, Temple, and arch-rival Georgia Tech. The final non-conference opportunity comes against a familiar foe in Kansas State. The Dawgs should finish with 8-11 non-conference wins.

Overall, I think that Georgia finishes with 23 wins, plays in the NCAA tournament, and with the right bounce of the ball, tips it off late in the second weekend of March Madness with a chance at the Sweet Sixteen. Tyree Crump and Will Jackson will decide if I am right or wrong.
