The player who earns the coveted preseason ACC Freshman of the Year honor is none other than the No. 1 overall freshman from the Class of 2017, Duke’s Marvin Bagley.

Bagley, who reclassified from the Class of 2018 shortly before his commitment to the Blue Devils, comes onto a team that is desperate for a freshman to meet expectations after several fell short last season.

That being said, there is no way that Bagley does not meet expectations. This is one of the best players in college basketball who will be one of the top picks in the 2018 NBA Draft.

There are few freshman in the ACC who will even come close to the type of production Bagley is capable of, and there is no doubt that, even if Duke fails to meet expectations, Bagley should be the ACC Freshman of the Year at the end of the season.
