Duke goes to at least the Elite Eight

The Duke Blue Devils have been one of the most disappointing teams in college basketball when it comes to postseason play over the past few seasons. Getting upset by smaller, not as well-known schools has become somewhat of a staple for Duke, and Coach K and Co. hope to turn it around this season.

I expect this to happen, and I expect the Blue Devils to basically be a lock for the Elite Eight and a legitimate National Championship contender. Few teams boast the type of talent that the Blue Devils do, and anyone who does not believe that this is the No. 1 team in college basketball on paper is either crazy (or a Michigan State fan).

Like I mentioned in the predictions for the Kentucky Wildcats, I’m not going to say “this team is going to the Final Four” or “this team will definitely win the National Championship,” because you never know when the next Kemba Walker or Butler Bulldogs are going to show up and look like they have been chosen by fate to go to the National Championship.

Duke boasts one of the best coaches in college basketball, Player of the Year caliber veterans, and the No. 1 freshman. If that’s not a recipe for success, I don’t know what is.
