Providence has looked very strong to start this season. Although they did not compete in a tournament over Thanksgiving week, the Friars did partake in two home games, securing victories in both. For starters, they took on Belmont, a top mid-major program, in “The Dunk.” This turned out to be one of the more exciting games of the week as Providence needed a running 3-pointer at the buzzer to take home the victory. Take a look at the crazy final sequence here:

Following the emotional roller coaster that was their win over Belmont, Providence dismantled Boston College by 20 points just three days later. With Providence’s only loss coming against Minnesota, a current top-15 team in the country, the Friars are looking very solid in the early going this season.

The rest of Providence’s non-conference schedule does not look too difficult and they could easily enter conference play with just one loss. Rodney Bullock, Kyron Cartwright, and Alpha Diallo are the Friars currently averaging in double-figures per game.

Schedule for this week:

  • Rider (5-1) at Providence on Nov. 29
  • Providence at Rhode Island (3-2) on Dec. 2
