Due to the fact that Creighton took care of business in their only game of the week, they stand pat at No. 4 in this edition of the Big East power rankings. In what was arguably their easiest game of the season, the Bluejays defeated SIU-Edwardsville by 37 points in their lone game. This was also their fifth game scoring over 90 points on the season as their offensive firepower once again proved to be their biggest strength.

In fact, the only game that Creighton scored less than 90 points was their only loss. In that game against Baylor, the team was held to just 59 points, proving that if the Bluejays’ offense is limited, they are quite beatable. Still, limiting that offense is not easy to do. Greg McDermott’s team is led by veteran scorers and players who are willing to create for others.

Marcus Foster (18.0 points) is the leading scorer on the team as expected while Khryi Thomas (16.8 points) and Martin Krampelj (12.5 points) slot in behind him. In addition, freshmen Mitchell Ballock and Ty-Shon Alexander are already showing up as major contributors. As a team, Creighton is currently shooting greater than 60% from inside the 3-point arc and 37.3% from beyond it.

Schedule for this week:

  • Creighton at Gonzaga (5-1) on Dec. 1
  • North Dakota (3-3) at Creighton on Dec. 5
