The Rutgers Scarlet Knights come into this week still at the bottom of the Big Ten despite picking up three more victories this week.  Although the Knights have a solid 9-3 record, they still haven’t really played anyone to prove that they should move up drastically in the power rankings.

The Scarlet Knights, however, did play Michigan State close last week. They lost the game 62-52, but played very well against the Spartans at home.

After the loss to the Spartans, Rutgers picked up three straight wins. The Scarlet Knights defeated NJIT, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Fordham 75-63. None of these wins really improve a resume, though. Rutgers doesn’t have a win in the RPI top-100 so far this season.

Surprisingly, the Knights currently lead the nation in team rebounds per game at 45.73 rebounds. DeShawn Freeman leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per game.  He also adds 11.0 points per game. Corey Sanders (13.1 ppg), Geo Baker (12.1 ppg), and Eugene Omoruyi (10.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg) are also main contributors this season.

Schedule for this week:

Seton Hall (9-1) at Rutgers on Dec. 16
