The Wildcats still have much to prove after last year’s NCAA tournament berth. Despite their 8-4 record, Northwestern has no quality wins to boost their resume. The Wildcats do still have the potential to turn things around, however, and have racked up four straight victories.

Last week, the Cats pulled off two victories. On Dec. 14, they defeated Valparaiso 84-50. Then, they traveled to DePaul to take on an improved Blue Demons squad on Dec. 16. Although they didn’t play their best, they still eked out a 62-60 win with leading scorer Scottie Lindsey contributing 25 points and 8 rebounds.

Lindsey is having a really good senior season for head coach Chris Collins and company, averaging 16.3 points per game. Vic Law is second on the team, averaging 13.7 points per game while adding 5.3 rebounds per game. Law needs to continue to improve his play for the Wildcats to have late-season success. Bryant McIntosh (12.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg) and Dererk Pardon (11.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg) add a couple more veteran presences for Northwestern.

Schedule for this week:

Lewis (4-7) at Northwestern on Dec. 19

Northwestern at Oklahoma (8-1) on Dec. 22
