The story really hasn’t changed for Iowa, which is why they haven’t moved up in this week’s rankings. The Hawkeyes still haven’t beaten anybody worth mentioning and their bad losses are still looming. Six out of Iowa’s eight wins have come against RPI 200-plus teams.

The Hawkeyes did go 2-0 last week but they didn’t really beat anyone special. They opened the week on Dec. 19 against Southern Utah with a 92-64 victory and were led by three players in double figures.

Iowa topped the week off with an 80-73 win over Colorado on Dec. 22. Although the Buffaloes have had some success in recent years, this season is not the same so far. They are currently 8-4 and have had some bad losses.

The Hawkeyes were led by five players in double figures. Again, the balanced scoring really shined in this game as well. This is a good sign for Iowa fans, but they are still looking to find that guy like Peter Jok who can step up when his team needs him the most.

A guy who could potentially fill this role is 6-9 sophomore Tyler Cook. Cook is currently averaging 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, both of which lead the team. Following him are sophomore guards Jordan Bohannon (12.1 ppg, 4.6 apg) and Isaiah Moss (12.1 ppg), who both have the potential to make big plays in the clutch as well. These guys will need to continue bringing solid contributions for this team to avoid going really far downhill.

Schedule for this week:

Northern Illinois (7-5) at Iowa on Dec. 29
