Florida State up next for UNC

North Carolina will take on the Florida State Seminoles next on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The Seminoles (who are currently battling closely with the Duke Blue Devils), but still come into the game with the Tar Heels as one of the more surprising teams of the 2017-18 college basketball season so far.

Their huge victory over in-state rivals and then top-five Florida Gators proved that this team is for real, and North Carolina could be on upset alert – especially on the road.

In fact, ESPN currently has Florida State beating UNC through their “matchup predictor” tool and it looks like, at least for now, the Seminoles could be a popular upset pick in this matchup.

That being said, I’m not drinking the FSU Kool-Aid just yet. This is a good team that is destined for the NCAA Tournament, but there are still a few question marks surrounding the Seminoles that I believe UNC can exploit.

What makes the Tar Heels so good is that you pretty much know what you’re going to get night-in and night-out, and Florida State wins by exploiting weaknesses like inconsistency. This is a bad matchup for FSU, and I wouldn’t be predicting an upset just yet.
