To some degree, TCU has been disappointing so far in Big 12 play, with an overtime win and a couple of home losses to boot. It sounds unfair, but in the back of my mind, I can’t help but remember the epic late-season collapse a year ago. There’s still a part of me that fears it may happen again. Of course, there’s no shame in losing to Kansas and Oklahoma, but next time around TCU will have to beat those teams on the road.

The Baylor win this week was historic, as it was the first one over the Bears as a Big 12 member. All five starters scored in double-figures in that game, led by Vladimir Brodziansky with 18 points.

The senior forward continued his good play against the Jayhawks with 20 points. Jaylen Fisher had 16, and Kenrich Williams had an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double. He helped TCU out-rebound Kansas by 14, but the 9/29 shooting from distance hurt them in the tight loss.

The Horned Frogs have the talent to be right at the top of the conference, but Alex Robinson has to start showing up in these games. He went scoreless in the Baylor game, and shot 1/8 against Kansas. He and Fisher made up a great starting backcourt last year, but Desmond Bane and JD Miller came in as the established starters for this season. The senior guard might have to start again, just to try to get him going.
