Allen Fieldhouse may accumulate more conference losses than usual, but that’s fine because Kansas will just win the league with road victories. That’s what happened in Fort Worth, with the Jayhawks beating the TCU Horned Frogs.

Devonte’ Graham was as clutch as can be, with 28 points. 13 (on 15 FTA) came from the free throw line and the senior made all eight from the charity stripe in the final two minutes to hold on for the win.

Svi Mykhailiuk was big as well with 20 points and six assists. But the unsung hero for the Jayhawks was Mitch Lightfoot, a seldom used forward who plays less than 10 minutes a night. He scores very little, and for the most part is used to let the others have a breather. But he produced big with nine points, seven boards and six blocks in the win. If he can do at least half of this on a given night, it takes a ton of pressure off of Udoka Azubuike.

Of course, it doesn’t take away the beat-down that occurred at the hands of Texas Tech at home. Graham had a similar stat line, with 27 points and 13 made throws,  but no one else made much of a contribution. Lagerald Vick, who usually scores at least in double-figures, had just two points on 1/9 shooting. Kansas might not be No. 1 right now, but the team is certainly within striking distance.
