I am not holding Fort Wayne’s loss to Oral Roberts against them to the point where I would rank the Golden Eagles above the Mastodons. Fort Wayne’s win over Indiana on the road balances out this early conference loss in my opinion. Credit to the Mastodons for regrouping in their next game by dominating Denver.

Bryson Scott continues to be consistent and impressive for the Mastodons. In both games last week he scored 20 points. Those two performances continue to keep him in the top-15 in both points per game and total points in the country. His consistency will always be there for the Mastodons. It is the performance of their other players that will push them towards the top of the conference. However, they are in a bit of a pickle as any more Summit League losses at this point may ruin their chances of taking the conference.

That will not be easy as South Dakota comes to town next. If they can get past the Coyote hurdle, Omaha waits for them on the other side. Winning both of those games may put the Mastodons right back in serious contention.
