I will admit it now, Mike Daum is and will be the Summit League Player of the Year. He poured in 37 points against North Dakota State, and then followed that up with a 27-point game against Omaha. Most importantly, the Jackrabbits won both of those games, establishing themselves as the best team in the conference.

What showcases this dominance is their shooting efficiency. South Dakota State is currently shooting 48% from the field and 42% from three. At any level, to shoot over 40% from three-point range is wildly impressive. Not to mention, they feature a player who is 13th in the country in points per game and second in total points scored. That player is the aforementioned Mike Daum.

The Jackrabbits now face a tough test in the scorching Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts next. Then, the Denver Pioneers are coming to Brookings for a Saturday afternoon tilt. While the Oral Roberts games looks intriguing, I think the Jackrabbits will take care of them, convincingly.
