Final review and score prediction

The Huskers are going to be motivated and The Vault is going to be rocking. Once their arena is packed, it can be a very hard place to play. So far this year, it has been a huge advantage for Nebraska to play their games at Pinnacle Bank Arena. How early will coach Miles go to the zone to try and disrupt the Michigan flow? Is Nebraska going to make shots? If so, will they make enough shots to win the game?

Nebraska is back to full strength as sophomore center Jordy Tshimanga is back with the team after a short “mental break.”  Against Illinois, Coach Miles brought in senior Evan Taylor off the bench and Taylor seemed to relish the role and played one of his better games in a Husker uniform. What lineup will Nebraska deploy to try and slow down Michigan out of the gate? Coach Miles’ teams have been known to start slow. If you start slow against Michigan, the game could be over by the time you catch your bearings. Can Nebraska weather the storm?

The Wolverines are going to be playing in a hostile environment tomorrow night against a hungry Nebraska team who is out for revenge after the drubbing the Wolverines gave them last year. Nebraska has been really good against the three this year and has not been letting teams take them at a high frequency. The Wolverines should have some offensive rebounds available, as Nebraska has shown they can be downright dreadful on the glass at times.

If Michigan is not hitting jump shots and is forced to go inside, that is playing into exactly what Nebraska will be trying to do. The Huskers can clearly protect the rim as they are top 15 in the country in blocked shots. Michigan will need to find a way to get easy baskets around the rim and not turn the ball over. If they start turning the ball over and are struggling to get inside, Nebraska may escape with a win.

Prediction: Nebraska 76 Michigan 73
