MTSU defeats Western Kentucky

After losing a trap game to Marshall earlier in the week, Middle Tennessee 14-5 (6-1) tied up the C-USA standings with a massive road win over rival Western Kentucky 14-6 (6-1). This gives a huge leg up in the race to win the conference title as well as another quality win on the resume.

Nick King continues to dominate Conference USA, scoring a game-high 28 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Veteran guard Giddy Potts chipped in with 16 points. Former Kansas Jayhawk Dwight Coleby paced the Hilltoppers with 19 points, while fellow senior Justin Johnson had 15 points and hit the team’s only made three-pointer.

Both teams have an outside shot of getting an at-large, and depending on what happens in the return game, the Blue Raiders could be in the better position of the two.
