2. Bonzie Colson, Notre Dame

This is the only injury on the list that isn’t a season-ender — yet. Another practice malady, the All-American senior forward suffered a left foot fracture at the beginning of the month and was given an eight-week recovery timeline.

That would put Colson back into a Notre Dame injury smack at the start of the ACC Tournament, as long as all goes according to plan.

The Fighting Irish are 2-3 without their star forward, with a three-loss losing streak ongoing entering Saturday’s game against Clemson. Making matters worse, the team just lose starter D.J. Harvey for at least a month as well.

Colson was having an extremely strong season prior to the injury, averaging 21.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, and two steals per game. His 6-foot-6 frame was not holding him back from out-muscling and outworking bigger players in the paint.

He was – and is – the heart and soul of the Fighting Irish.

In the latest bracketology (before the Harvey injury), the Fighting Irish stood right along the cut line. Mike Brey’s squad can never be counted out, but they may need a miraculous recovery from Colson to have a chance at moving to the right side of the bubble.
