Rebounding

Another strength for the Aggies is their ability to fight on the glass, giving themselves plenty of second-chance opportunities and limiting their opponent’s opportunities on the other end.

The Aggies currently rank No. 8 in rebounding margin, outrebounding opponents by 8.2 boards per game. On the offensive end, New Mexico State grabs 32.9% of their misses, while on defense they grab 78.8% of missed shots.

What makes their rebounding even more incredible is their relative lack of size. The leading rebounder on the team, Jemerrio Jones, is just 6’5”, and there are just three players over 6’6” playing regular minutes.

Their size disadvantage could become an issue in March if they run into a team like Michigan State, Duke, or Gonzaga, but their aggressiveness will make even those teams have to work that much harder.
