ACC Basketball: Midseason recap, awards, and observations
Second team All-ACC
JR Terance Mann – Forward, Florida State
2017-18 stats: 16.0 ppg 6.2 rpg 2.9 apg
The most consistent player on the Seminoles, Mann is the primary reason for the team’s somewhat surprising success. He’s played his best in the biggest games, including 25 points against both Louisville and Florida.
JR Jerome Robinson – Guard, Boston College
2017-18 stats: 18.4 ppg 3.5 rpg 3.2 apg
Since ACC play started, Robinson hasn’t scored less than 15 ppg, and is averaging 22.5 ppg in those games. Of the three guards for Boston College, he’s the one you rely on most.
SR Matt Farrell – Guard, Notre Dame
2017-18 stats: 15.7 ppg 2.4 rpg 5.3 apg
When healthy, the senior has carried the Fighting Irish on his back as of late. But reoccurring ankle issues are causing him to miss some more games, leaving the team in big trouble.
JR Deng Adel – Forward, Louisville
2017-18 stats: 15.6 ppg 4.9 rpg 2.8 apg
The Cardinals really needed someone to become the focal point of the offense and Adel has been it. He’s not the kind of player to drop 30 points on any given night but it’s a guarantee that he’ll give you 12-15. Consistency matters.
FR Wendell Carter Jr. – Forward, Duke
2017-18 stats: 14.3 ppg 9.4 rpg 2.0 apg
Bagley has been overshadowing the other future lottery pick but he’s been just as good. Carter has had double-doubles in four of the past five games and has quietly been shooting 46% from deep on the season.
