ACC Bracketology

The latest edition of Busting Bracket’s Bracketology has come out, and the ACC is once again tied with the SEC for the most number of teams receiving a bid with eight. There’s a new team part of the equation while another team is back in the conversation after a huge upset win. Here’s a look at where each team stands currently.

Pittsburgh – Out (Wouldn’t qualify for the YMCA tournament)

The Panthers best win is against Duquesne this season. Their worst loss is everyone. That’s basically the summary of Pitt’s resume. But if this team beats any ACC bubble team from this point on, it is a bubble burster.

Wake Forest – Out (Will haunt Syracuse’s dreams)

The Demon Deacons have just one win in the ACC so far. That’s against the Orange, who are squarely on the bubble. If they fail to make the NCAA tournament, Wake Forest will be to blame.

Georgia Tech – Out (Spoiler alert?)

This is a team that won’t be going anywhere but plays an ugly enough game where they can steal a win, like they did earlier against Miami. Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and NC State should be aware of the Yellow Jackets.

Boston College – Out (Duke just isn’t enough)

The best wins for the Eagles are Duke and Florida State. That’s good, but the third best win is either Richmond or LaSalle, which is a steep drop. They had two chances to beat tournament teams in Louisville and Syracuse but came away empty. That’s not going to do it.

Notre Dame – Out (No more luck for the Irish)

Even before the injury to Bonzie Colson, the resume for Notre Dame was weak. But now it’s all but over after succumbing to even more injuries.
