No. 28: Angel Delgado – Senior center, Seton Hall

2017-18 stats: 13.2 ppg 11.5 rpg 2.9 apg

Best season performance: 28 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in win at Butler

It’s hard to get national attention when one resides from a middle-tier team from the Big East Conference, but Delgado has been as good as advertised coming into the season. One of the very top rebounders in the country, the senior big man has had games of 21, 19 and 18 (twice) when it comes to the boards.

An underrated part of his game has been his passing ability, with the three dimes dished out nightly has been even better than some elite guards on this list. Only thing keeping him from being higher has been both the elevated play of his teammates, and the underwhelming play of the team overall.

No. 27: Landry Shamet – Sophomore guard, Wichita State

2017-18 stats: 14.8 ppg 3.0 rpg 5.2 apg

Best season performance: 30 points and five assists in win over Oklahoma State

He seemed like the surefire pick for AAC Player of the Year, but the numbers for Shamet has dipped in the last few weeks. Still, the projected first round pick for the NBA draft has played well all year, upping his scoring production while still facilitating and rebounding as well.

One area of his game that has remained elite has been the defense, considered to be one of the best defensive point guards in the country.
