Last week: Loss 74-52 at Duke – Win 76-56 at Georgia Tech

In four years, Virginia Tech Head coach Buzz Williams has helped make the Hokies into a competitive ACC program. This year’s team continued their recent trend of strong offense carrying them to victories. Virginia Tech beat NC State by 10 points, and then followed that up with an overtime win against Virginia in which they shot 37.9 percent from 3-point range.

After knocking off the top defensive team in the ACC, they loss to Duke, who hit over double the amount of 3-pointers the Hokies did. Junior guard Justin Robinson rediscovered his form after hitting only one of his seven 3-point attempts against Duke. He went a perfect three-for-three from deep in their blowout win against Georgia Tech.

Buzz Williams has molded this team into a fast and aggressive squad. They have played well enough this year to be thinking about the NCAA Tournament. Virginia Tech has one of the toughest remaining ACC schedules. The Hurricanes will benefit from three of the four remaining games being at home.
