Last week: Win 83-66 vs Notre Dame – Win 93-76 a Louisville

North Carolina currently has the longest winning streak in the ACC at five games. The Tar Heels have put up 90 ppg during the win streak and Luke Maye has impressed with 20.2 ppg over the five-game stretch. Maye’s effectiveness as a facilitator (3.2 assists per game over the win streak) has helped form a formidable trio with Joel Berry II, and Theo Pinson, who surprisingly leads the team in assists per game.

Along with leading the team in assists per game, Pinson is second in rebounds per game, and fifth in points per game for UNC. Pinson has been the “glue-guy” for the Tar Heels, while Maye, Berry, and Cameron Johnson have supplied the scoring.

Their defense has been just as impressive over the stretch, and the Tar Heels are really starting to round into NCAA Tournament form. With the Tar Heels offense  humming along, they shouldn’t be as worried as most teams about facing a pair of top-five defenses in two of their last three games (Syracuse, Miami). But everyone knows the endgame for North Carolina. Their March 3rd end-of-season match-up with rival Duke will impact ACC Tournament seeding quite a bit.
