Last week: Home loss 59-50 vs Virginia – Home loss 62-55 vs Syracuse

Miami is 3-3 without starting guard Bruce Brown Jr., who is out for about six weeks due to a left foot injury. Lonnie Walker IV was great in the three wins. He went 2-for-17 from the 3-point line over their current three-game losing streak.

Freshman guard Chris Lykes had been helping fill the scoring void for the Hurricanes. Syracuse’s 2-3 zone harassed Lykes into a 20 percent 3-point shooting night. Things like this happens when you depend on big games from freshman to stay afloat.

The Syracuse loss means that Miami has suffered three straight defeats. Miami is a tough team, and Walker will play a big hand in the Hurricanes being able to slow down Notre Dame and the hot-shooting Matt Farrell, who is coming off of a 37-point outing. Despite the dramatic slide, Miami can turn things around.

Miami’s last two games are a road game against North Carolina and a home match-up with Virginia Tech. Games with Notre Dame and Boston College will test their top-five ACC defense.

This week: Monday at Notre Dame (A) – Saturday vs Boston College (H)
