Who wins?

I’m not here to speculate on who is at fault or not in the Louisville case. All I’m going to say, speaking from a basketball mindset only, with Rick Pitino, I think this team is a top-15 ball club. We knew they had the talent coming into the season and they show signs of it at times, but they’re closer to the bubble than we certainly expected.

I think everyone should believe that if Louisville was able to pull out the victory once before over Virginia Tech, it’s very possible to do it again. It’s tough for a program to get themselves back out of the mud from what happened a few days ago. The talent is there though to make an impact in both Tournaments.

Virginia Tech on the other hand should be pretty comfortable with how things are right now in Blacksburg. There’s still a week left in the ACC regular season where they could move safely into that top-four. Obviously they don’t want to lose, but if they end up getting swept by Louisville, it’s not the end of the world. In fact, the Hokies haven’t put together a series of consecutive home wins since December.

Prediction: Louisville 76 Virginia Tech 71
