Summit League Basketball: Player of the Year Rankings
4. Paul Miller – North Dakota State
You look at Paul Miller’s numbers and you almost have to be puzzled when you see him fourth on this list. The senior averages 19 points and nearly six rebounds per game. While he is efficient from the field, shooting 44 percent, he is less so from three. Though he can have streaks of absolutely unconscious shooting, Miller only shoots 34 percent from long-range.
I have said this before and I will say it again, the reason North Dakota State is even relevant this season is because of Paul Miller. The Bison need Miller to perform at a high level in order for them to even be relatively competitive in games. Often times that is not even enough as the Bison sit at 13-15 overall and 4-8 in Summit League play.
It is a shame that Miller could not be surrounded by a better supporting cast because his talent alone could have carried them a long way. Unfortunately, they just do not have the weapons to compliment him.
