Teams safely in

Michigan:

Thanks to the five-game winning streak and the blowout at the end, the Michigan Wolverines are headed for the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year. They have a very nice RPI of 23 while sitting in the top-20 of the KenPom rankings.

A win in the Big Ten Tournament would be very nice though. Getting to 25 wins would be great because if they lost it’ll to be one of the bottom teams of the Big Ten. I’m okay with saying Michigan will get nothing worse than an 8 seed and maybe rise as high as a five.

Ohio State:

As much as Ohio State has been sputtering in the final two weeks of the season, the Buckeyes are still finishing in the top-two of the Big Ten. Just by defeating Purdue and Michigan State, the Buckeyes are automatically in the quarterfinals.

Ohio State would ideally need a win in the Big Ten Tournament. They won their last two, but those were to Rutgers and double OT over Indiana. Their last two important games against Michigan Penn State were losses. They have an RPI of 17 and KenPom of 14 so to secure a top-five seed, a win would be in their greatest interest.
