Don’t Sleep On:

Wisconsin

A 14-16 team went toe-to-toe with the number one team in the Big Ten. This isn’t your typical two-game under .500 team. Granted Wisconsin isn’t having their typical season, but they’re starting to look like the Badgers of old. Since the Purdue win, this team suddenly looks inspired.

Brad Davison was a warrior against Michigan State. He showed the national audience on Sunday afternoon what kinds of special things he’s been doing all season. He’s a two-guard by trade, but because of the injuries, Davison is doing it all. Ethan Happ leads the Badgers in almost every important statistic. Between the two of them, they have this team playing inspired.

Likely to Disappoint:

Ohio State

I stole this category from write ups I do for D3baseball.com. Disappoint is kind of a strong word, but basically what I’m trying to say is what highly ranked teams is going to fall first. Let this not take away from anything Holtmann has done this season. 15-3 is very impressive. He’d have my vote as Big Ten Coach of the Year.

The thing is though, they finished the season 2-2. They were swept by Penn State this season. The Nittany Lions just match up very well against the Buckeyes. It’s already been proven that they can lose to Michigan. The Buckeyes only beat Purdue by one and haven’t played Michigan State since early January.
