NCAA Basketball: 2017-2018 Player of the Year Power Rankings “This is March” Edition
By Connor Hope
3. Trevon Bluiett – Xavier
19.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.6 apg
The motor behind the first team to really challenge Villanova for the conference title in the “new” Big East, Trevon Bluiett is perhaps the best wing in the country. He may be the least covered player in the Top 5 but his play on the court is enough to make fans of Xavier excited for what can happen in the NCAA Tournament.
Bluiett is second in the Big East in three-pointers made, doing so at an incredible 43.6% clip. Bluiett’s efficiency has greatly improved from beyond the arc and at the free throw line, and it has translated over to the Musketeers success.
For the first time in four years, Villanova will be unseated at the top of the Big East. Xavier has already won a share of the Big East title, and Trevon Bluiett has them poised to win the auto-bid as well.
