Semifinals and Championship

(5) Kent State – (1) Buffalo

Kent State will have plenty of momentum at this point. However, this is where the Golden Flashes run will come to an end. Buffalo is the better team and will prove it in this one. The Bulls’ depth and balance will wear down Kent State. I don’t think that the Golden Flashes’ offense will be able to keep pace with Buffalo’s. The Bulls will make a statement and move on to the MAC Championship Game.

85-68 Buffalo

(3) Eastern Michigan – (2) Toledo

Eastern Michigan has defeated Toledo in both previous matchups this season. Sometimes, one team is simply a bad matchup for another team. That’s the case in this pairing as the Eagles’ defense will frustrate the Rockets’ offense once again. Eastern Michigan’s frontcourt will lead the way, while its dynamic guards will also succeed against Toledo. It’s tough to sweep a team during a season, but I believe the Eagles will accomplish this feat.

76-72 Eastern Michigan

Championship Game: (3) Eastern Michigan – (1) Buffalo

A great contrast of styles in this game. Eastern Michigan is guided by its sturdy defense, while Buffalo relies on its ability to run and outscore opponents. Eastern Michigan has an excellent starting five, but Buffalo has superior depth. Also, the Bulls’ starting five is excellent in its own right.

Next: Bracketology a week before Selection Sunday

Buffalo has been the conference’s best team all season. Therefore, it seems fitting that they hoist the championship trophy. The Bulls will sprint their way to a MAC Championship and will represent their conference in the Big Dance.

85-75 Buffalo
