3. Virginia is here to stay

Sure, the award sheet is filled with Marvin Bagley III’s name at nearly every turn. But look around a little more and you’ll find plenty of representation from the Virginia Cavaliers.

Kyle Guy didn’t earn any Player of the Year votes, but he did wind up on the All-ACC First Team. Devon Hall placed on the Second Team while earning a single vote for Player of the Year. Ty Jerome, meanwhile, forced his way on to the Third Team.

Hall is a senior, but Guy and Jerome are just sophomores with two years of eligibility remaining.

De’Andre Hunter was named Sixth Man of the Year. He also earned the lone vote for Rookie of the Year outside of Bagley III and placed on the All-Freshman Team; that’s right, Hunter is just a freshman with three years to go.

They’re all led by Tony Bennett who earned 47 of the 57 votes for Coach of the Year. In the process, he became the first three-time winner since Mike Krzyzewski did it in 1996-97 (he’s added two since then); not even Roy Williams has won the award three times.

Next: Grayson Allen's legacy

All to say, Virginia is poised to remain atop the ACC for the foreseeable future.
