Bracketology Part I: Maybe There’s a Chance

Oregon Ducks

Although Oregon’s chances of an at-large bid have all but disappeared, but there is still a very narrow path to the NCAA Tournament. If the Ducks are able to get to the Pac-12 Championship with wins over Utah and USC, AND a bunch of other bubble teams lose early in their conference tournaments, there is a chance for celebration. Even if that path is followed, it is still not incredibly likely that the Ducks will be selected. For now Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman should be telling his team that the situation is auto-bid or bust.

Washington Huskies

The Washington Huskies have been on the NCAA Tournament bubble for most of the season, but their 3-4 record to end the regular season may have just knocked them off. The Huskies might be in a better position than Oregon right now, but they will also need to make the Pac-12 Championship game with wins over USC and Utah to have a legitimate shot at an at-large.
