Middle Tennessee

This team falls somewhere in between Saint Mary’s and the major conference snubs. While the Blue Raiders managed to schedule some good teams, they were unable to win those games and add to their resume.

Many fans will use MTSU as an example of why conference tournaments shouldn’t determine auto-bids since the Blue Raiders easily won the C-USA Regular Season Championship before losing in the tournament.

Giddy Potts and Nick King have been fun to watch all season, and it will be sad to see them in the NIT. Blue Raider fans, however, do not have much to complain about, however, as the two losses to Marshall would kill most bubble teams chances at an at-large bid.

With very few mid-major teams getting at-large bids this season, it would have been exciting to watch Middle Tennessee play as a potential upset bid.
