Saint Mary’s Regional

Saint Mary’s has the gaudiest record of the team’s left out of the NCAA Tournament at 28-5. However, the Gaels only big win game against Gonzaga in conference play. And the Gaels got bounced from the conference tournament in the semis.

Utah, LSU and Washington are the top seeds in the bracket.

1. Saint Mary’s: The Gaels didn’t play an arduous schedule, as a result, they are in the NIT. Center Jock Landale is a monster inside and point guard Emmett Naar is very capable of orchestrating the offense.

2. Utah (19-11). The Utes finished third in the Pac-12 and then lost to Oregon by two in conference tournament quarterfinals.

3. LSU (17-14): The TIgers finished ninth in the SEC before losing to Miss State in the second round of the conference tournament. Five-foot-11 freshman Tremont Waters is sensational, averaging 16.0 points along with 5.9 dimes and 3.4 rebounds. Waters has topped the 20-point plateau in four of his past six games.

5. Washington (20-12): The Huskies finished sixth in the PAC-12, although they got eliminated in the first round of the conference tournament. Jaylen Nowell and Noah Dickerson are two players to watch.

5. Boise State (23-8): The Broncos finished second in the Mountain West and was knocked out of the quarters of the conference tournament by Utah State. NBA prospect Chandler Hutchinson leads the way for the Broncos.

6. Louisiana (27-6): The Raging Cajuns went 16-2 to win the Sun Belt, but they eliminated by UT-Arlington in the inference semis.

Louisiana, led by senior guard Frank Bentley, gets everyone involved. The Cajuns   nationally in scoring at 83.4 points a game. They are eighth in assists (17.6) and 27th in rebounds.

7. UC Davis (22-10): The Aggies claimed the Big West crown, but was upset in the semis of the conference tournament. Davis is 7-3 without leading scorer and rebounder Chima  Moneke, who is suspended.

8. SE Louisiana (22-11): The Lions earned the bid by winning the Southland regular season title.
