March Madness: Most-likely upsets to watch for on each seed line
(16) Pennsylvania over (1) Kansas
The Ivy League is usually not relegated to a No. 16 seed. Even though the conference definitely had a down season, Penn has the ability to be a dangerous No. 16. Even though Kansas should walk away with this win easily, that might not be the case.
For the season, the Jayhawks are attempting 41.6% of their shots from behind the arc and knocking home 40.3%. This deadly 3-point shooting has been a large part of their success this season but that might not be reliable in this game. Defensively, Penn held opponents to the second-worst 3-point percentage in the country this season (29.6%). It is very difficult to get good looks from three against the Quakers and that will hurt Bill Self’s squad, which is almost over-reliant on the 3-ball (T-Rank).
In addition, Kansas has been inconsistent throughout the year. Even though they won the Big 12 as usual, it was not as easy as it has been in the past. The Jayhawks slipped up at home a few times this year and had some pretty bad performances along the way. If they play well in this game, the Jayhawks will win by 30+. However, a poor outing could let Penn hang around way too long.
Runner-Up: UMBC over Virginia

While all of these will not happen, I am hoping that at least one does so I do not look like a complete idiot. All jokes aside, though, this was a fun exercise heading into the madness that is the NCAA Tournament.
