The South Region could become a mess

The University of Virginia has become a partisan topic in college basketball, particularly when it comes to how well they’ll do in this tournament. There are those who feel that the Cavaliers will go all the way to the national title game, and those who think that the Sweet Sixteen is their ceiling.

If I had to choose a side, I’d be with the ladder, especially with the news of sixth man De’Andre Hunter’s season-ending injury. He’s a proven scorer as a freshman and the questions of whether the Cavaliers can score enough to win.

Virginia isn’t the only team with questions about scoring, as the two seed Cincinnati is vulenable to that as well. Three seed Tennessee is fairly new to this and isn’t a team that can overpower an opponent.

Of course, Arizona is out and Kentucky is still filled with freshmen, so it’s not out of the realm of possiblitiy that a six seed or lower can make it to the Final Four.
