Clemson’s guards can really play.

When a team flies under the radar in the nation’s best conference, not a whole lot of the team becomes household names. But now is the time to take notice of Gabe DeVoe and Shelton Mitchell, two Clemson guards who can really play.

DeVoe especially put on a show on Sunday, scoring 22 points and dropping five dimes in just 24 minutes of action. Mitchell added ten points and six assists, and was also a major reason why Auburn was held to just 19 points total in the first half and 53 total, as his defense on the perimeter was suffocating.

Quite possibly the most intimidating part of the Tigers though is the fact that their backcourt is so deep. Marcquise Reed scored 16 points and also played strong defensively. When DeVoe doesn’t have the ball, Reed can create for himself offensively. The backcourt may not have a household name, but together they are extremely dangerous.
