March Madness: Who are the best seniors left in the NCAA Tournament?
2. Devonte’ Graham, Kansas Jayhawks
The Big 12 Player of the Year earned that award in a loaded field, beating the likes of Trae Young to get it. If the Jayhawks are going to avoid the stumbles of other No. 1 seeds, Devonte’ Graham will be a big reason why.
The guard took on the majority of the scoring load in the First Round win over Penn. He attempted 24 shots, scoring 29 points. He contributed in other ways two, recording six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Graham didn’t key Kansas’ win over Seton Hall in the Second Round – in fact, he struggled immensely. He missed all four of his three-point attempts and scored just eight points, despite receiving the same playing time as the previous game. He also turned the ball over five times.
Graham did manage to dish nine assists, however, finding ways to contribute when his shot wasn’t falling.
This season, the senior averaged 17.4 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. He was arguably the most well-rounded team in the entire country.
Clemson comes into the Sweet Sixteen off a dominant win over Auburn and will be licking their chops to pull off the upset. Graham is the man who stands in their way – expect him to perform that way.
