March Madness: Top players from the Elite 8 teams
Michigan Wolverines
JR Moritz Wagner, Forward
2017-18 stats: 14.4 ppg 6.9 rpg 0.8 apg
After having a breakout stretch during the postseason last year, Wagner has carried it forward this season, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding. He went from a soft and finesse stretch four who could barely get rebounds to a much tougher defender down low.
His offensive game continues to get better from all areas and looks like a first-round pick. He held his own against the frontcourt of Texas A&M while dropping 21 points of his own. For the Wolverines to be a national title contender, the junior will need to have a couple more big performances.
Florida State Seminoles
JR Terance Mann, Forward
2017-18 stats: 12.9 ppg 5.5 rpg 2.6 apg
After all the stars that left the team last year, it was going to be a number of Florida State players that would have to step up to keep the team viable. Mann was one of them, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding. His numbers don’t see too big, but considering that he plays roughly 30 minutes a night, as well as 12 players getting legit minutes for the team, he’s been an impressive player. The junior can have a big impact with his driving ability, getting opponents in foul trouble.
