Kansas Basketball: How the Jayhawks reached the Final Four
Key players for Kansas
The “key” guys for this team is their entire starting lineup, with each of them averaging at least 12.0 ppg. Kansas uses one big man in Azubuike down low, surrounded by four shooters on the perimeter. All four of them shoot at least 38% from three-point range and is the best deep-shooting team in the country.
One player who has grown the most this season is Svi Mykhailiuk, who actually shoots better from three-point range than he does below the arc. The senior has gone from a role player to the second leading scorer of a Final Four team.
Another player who deserves some big credit is Lagerald Vick, who has increased his production each year with the program. He gets the least amount of attention because the junior doesn’t have those big scoring nights, but he gets tasked with guarding the top opposing scorer each game. Without him, there’s no Final Four for this team.
And of course, Graham followed Mason’s path in winning the Big 12 Player of the Year Award. If it wasn’t for the start Trae Young of Oklahoma had, Graham would’ve been the star of the Big 12.
