Kansas Basketball: How the Jayhawks reached the Final Four
Chances of Kansas getting back to the Final Four
Even with both Graham and the sharpshooter from Ukraine graduating, I always thought that next year’s team was better suited for a Final Four run than this one.
Depth won’t be an issue one bit, with the Lawson brothers from Memphis and Charlie Moore from Cal all being eligible to play next season. De Sousa will get regular minutes, and another solid recruiting class will be coming in.
This hurts to say for the rivals of Kansas, but in some ways, this could’ve been a transition year to have a full roster to work with. But the talent of the starting five was too much for everyone else it seems. That’s what makes this most recent conference championship so satisfying for Jayhawk fans.
There might be just a few programs where the term “Final Four or bust” is appropriate. Duke, Kentucky, Villanova and Michigan State would apply, as well as Kansas.
There will likely be a couple of transfers, and players like Newman and Vick will probably test the NBA Draft waters and might possibly leave. But this is a guaranteed preseason top-10 team for next year, looking for another Final Four run.
