Davidson Wildcats

2017-18 results: 21-12 (13-5) – Round of 64

Key losses: Peyton Aldridge (21.2 ppg and 7.6 rpg – both led team)

Key returnees: SO Kellan Grady (18.0 ppg) – JR Jon Axel Gudmundsson (13.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg, and 5.1 apg)

Davidson will be losing the program’s best player since Steph Curry in Peyton Aldridge, who averaged over 20 ppg in his final two seasons while winning the Atlantic Ten Player of the Year Award this season.

However, another great Wildcat may be emerging in Kellan Grady, who in just his first year made buckets at a very efficient rate. It’ll be interesting to see if his numbers hold up with Aldridge gone.

Those two players overshadow one of the best all-around players in Jon Axel Gudmundsson, who on multiple occasions this season came close to a triple-double. He’ll be tasked with scoring more while still facilitating the offense for Davidson.

This team will take a step back without their star, but the other two teams from the conference that made the NCAA Tournament (St. Bonaventure and Rhode Island will also be losing their best players, making the A-10 wide-open.

Davidson will arguably have two of the best players in the conference and will hope that helps them win it next season.
