James Akinjo (No. 95 ranked prospect) – Point guard

Another former commit, the point guard left UConn after Kevin Ollie was let go. He still could go there with the hire of Dan Hurley, but the California native likely will go elsewhere.

The teams involved are from all over the country, with Arizona, Georgetown, Baylor, Cal, and Tennessee named. It’s really a matter of what his intentions are, as there are clearly teams who present instant playing time opportunities.

Prediction: Akinjo has shown he’s willing to go out East, so the Hoyas are a real option. But I like for him to stay on the west coast for Arizona, who doesn’t have a true point guard on the roster. The Wildcats are still a quality option for western-based high school players, and could easily pull him in.

Courtney Ramey (No. 40 ranked prospect) – Point guard

One of the biggest impacts of the FBI Investigation with Louisville has been the decommitments of their 2018 class, which includes Ramey. He is still in the early stages of his recruitment, just recently coming out with a top-10 list of teams.

The point guard is from St. Louis Missouri, which means that the Tigers along with Illinois have a realistic shot for his services.

Prediction: One team also on that list is the reigning NCAA National Champions Villanova Wildcats, who have shown in recent years that point guards can thrive in the program’s system. The other teams can offer more playing time, but the Wildcats offer winning, which could be too much to pass up.
