C. Freshman, 1.6 points, 1.4 rebounds. Center. North Carolina Tar Heels. BRANDON HUFFMAN

Brandon Huffman: North Carolina had five guys in their 2017 recruiting class. Four of them were four-stars and the other three were three-stars. Brandon Huffman was the top rated three star player this season. He was a six-foot-nine center, ranked 193rd in the country and 17th at his position.

With the front court as wide open as it was, he was in line to be a heavy rotation guy. Luke Maye was the only guarantee. Garrison Brooks maybe since he was a four-star. I don’t think Roy Williams actually thought Tony Bradley was leaving after last season. He did and that left a hole in the paint.

Huffman was one of those guys that Williams would play in just about every game, but only see a few minutes here and there. He did appear in 29 games including three conference tournament games and the two NCAA Tournament games. The freshman only scored 12 points.

Since the Tar Heels decided to throw in so many guys in each game, only playing a few minutes at a time, I had to decided on some to mention in slides. Huffman did grab 14 boards in a two game stretch over Tulane and Western Carolina. Rebounding is something he’ll be great at with his size and he’ll have another crack at the rotation next season.
