NBA Draft 2018: Mock First Round Projections 1.0
28. Golden State: Aaron Holiday, PG
The defending champs are still within a golden age, but the Warriors must eventually consider what their next steps are. Beginning in this draft may seem premature to some, but it doesn’t hurt to mold young players under the direction of the current stars.
Aaron Holiday, who played his college ball down the coast at UCLA, is a good start. He is a point guard who could develop more physically, but already has the scoring and ability to defend to be in the NBA. And in the meantime, he can provide a spark off the bench as Golden State seeks to continue their dominance of the western conference.
27. Boston: Justin Jackson, SF
The Celtics don’t have many voids on their roster, but injuries have become a problem this season. When it comes to their draft pick, there isn’t a glaring need to address but simply depth. This is why a versatile player like Justin Jackson would be a good fit.
Jackson, who played his college basketball at Maryland, is right on the edge of being a first and second round selection, according to mock draft experts. Don’t be surprised if Boston pulls the trigger a little early, however, since Jackson can shoot, drive to the basket, facilitate, and defend. He could really be a key addition to the Boston bench.
