4. Alabama Crimson Tide

2017-18 season record and seed: 20-16 (8-10) – No. 9 seed

They lost 16 total games without Collin Sexton this past season, so there’s a chance they’ll lose even more with him leaving for the NBA. But Avery Johnson has a number of former top-100 players ready to step up and keep Alabama afloat in the SEC.

Braxton Key’s decision to transfer is a big problem, however, as he was figured to be a key player for the team next season. Now someone like a John Petty will have to become a star himself. There is still some good talent available, but the margin of error will be incredibly thin.

3. Arizona Wildcats

2017-18 season record and seed: 27-8 (14-4) – No. 4 seed

The entire starting lineup is gone, and that was somewhat going to be expected for the Wildcats. What wasn’t expected was the entire incoming freshmen class decommitting elsewhere because of the ongoing FBI Investigation. That leaves an underwhelming group of reserves that didn’t impress this past season.

Sean Miller has done his best to regroup, getting a pair of top-100 recruits to come in. But even with the Pac-12 not expected to be that good, the Wildcats will have problems getting back to the NCAA Tournament.
