NCAA Basketball: Where will top 2018 prospect Jordan Brown end up?
Arizona Wildcats
For those who have followed Brown’s recruitment, the Wildcats were a bit of a surprise. They offered him a while ago and have been in contact with him throughout. But after the fallout from the NCAA Investigation into corruption where Arizona lost all their top recruits for 2018, it felt like they were completely out of contention.
Leave it up to master recruiter Sean Miller to work his magic, as he’s managed to make the best out of a bad situation. Currently, there are no surefire starters on the Wildcats team, so a quality prospect like Brown would be able to come in and get a ton of playing time.
Duke transfer Chase Jeter and Pittsburgh grad transfer Ryan Luther are the only frontcourt players on the roster over 6’7, so Brown’s 6’10 and 200-pound size will be of much-needed assistance.
When it comes to winning, the Wildcats are not projected to make the NCAA Tournament. That could easily change if they get both Brown and Brandon Williams, a top-35 point guard who also is without a team for 2018. Getting both of them would bring them back into the bubble conversation.
And even if they don’t make it to the Big Dance next year, much more talent with be arriving in Tuscon. Of course, that assumes that he’s not a “one and done” player after a great freshman campaign. Playing time’s available, just not necessarily the winning.
