Kevin Huerter – SG Maryland

Huerter might be the least likely player on this list to remain in the draft, but he is still a major sleeper. The Maryland wing has great size at 6’7” and is a knockdown shooter. He shot 42% from three-point range on 73 makes and this shot-making ability will be heavily coveted by NBA clubs.

The talented sophomore is more than just a shooter as he can create offense for himself and others. Huerter averaged 3.4 apg to go along with 14.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg. He can scorer at all three levels and can finish at the rim with either hand which is an underrated skill. Huerter is a good defensive player as well.

There is a chance that Huerter cracks the first round, but it is more likely that he is picked in the early second round if he remains in the draft. However, wings are in high demand so it would not be surprising to see a team in the late first round take a flier on him.

Teams in the late first round like Minnesota, Chicago, Indiana, and Portland could use a shot making wing so Huerter will have plenty of suitors. His sharp shooting and well-rounded game makes him an appealing prospect.

It would not be surprising to see Huerter contributing on second units immediately. While I think Huerter should remain the draft, there is a chance he goes higher next season. The 2019 Draft looks considerably weaker so he could really improve his stock. Either way, Huerter is a future NBA player and should perform well at the NBA Draft Combine.
