The “______ is a Sports School” Braggers

Notable Fans: Texas, Michigan, USC…

What is the worse than a fan who tries to use their school’s football program in a basketball discussion? A fan that makes the blanket statement that they root for a “Sports School.”

Why would anyone use a national championship count that includes 13 in water polo? Maybe because their lack of any Men’s Basketball National Championships, doesn’t look very good when trying to justify their optimism for the upcoming season. However, if you can diminish the lack of success in one sport, maybe people won’t notice.

These fans really are just another version of the “Football is King” fan, but their schools recent lack of success has had them changing their tune a bit. While most people will admit that these schools are great at most sports, this fact has absolutely zero to do with their current success on the hardwood.
